The Youth

Importance of Music Lessons

The absence of a nurturing platform for musical education deprives our youth of invaluable life skills learned through the arts, such as discipline, collaboration, and cultural literacy. It is a disservice to our community and to the future of our culture to neglect the artistic and personal development of our young people. The GenSan Youth Orchestra and Choir stands as a beacon of opportunity, offering not just lessons in music but in life, ensuring every child has the chance to grow, express, and excel.

Benefits of Joining GYOCC

We believe in the profound impact of music education on a young person’s life. Through the universal language of music, we offer more than just lessons; we provide a gateway to self-discovery, unity, and academic excellence. Our program is designed to nurture not only musical talent but also the essential life skills that pave the way for a bright future.

Boosts Confidence and Self-Expression

Music education allows young people to express themselves creatively. Learning to perform in front of others can significantly boost their confidence, helping them in many areas of life.

Enhances Teamwork and Social Skills

Being part of an orchestra or choir teaches kids how to work together as a team. They learn to listen to each other and collaborate, improving their social skills.

Improves Academic Skills and Discipline

Music education is closely linked to better performance in subjects like math and reading. Learning music also teaches discipline, as students must practice regularly to improve their skills.

Join An Internationally Competitive Group

Join the ranks of the GenSan Youth Choir, a proud recipient of two Gold medals at the 4th Macau International Choral Competition in November 2019. Our victories in both the Folk and Sacred categories have not only put us on the map but have also opened doors to numerous invitations from across the Philippines, allowing us to share our talent and passion nationwide.

What our students say about us?

"Being a member of Gensan Youth Orchestra has made me an effective and a discipline musician. I applied everything I learned in studying music at St. Scholastica's College Manila. Being a effective musician always requires hardwork and discipline. I also had fun in all of the activities of the group because it should be that way. It doesn't matter if you have a strict teacher as long as you have fun in playing music. Therefore you can get somewhere by enjoying practicing and performing."
